• Baby Cuvier’s dwarf caimans, the smallest of all crocodilians, are typically brown with black banding. They are born with a lighter head color that darkens as they grow. Their size at hatching is about 22 to 24 cm (8.7 to 9.4 in). They are also relatively small as adults, with males reaching 1.3-1.5 meters (4.3-4.9 feet) and females reaching about 1.2 meters (4 feet).
